Orenburg Court Finds Infringement of Hasbro’s Trademark

Sojuzpatent lawyers successfully defended the interests of Hasbro Inc. (USA) in connection with illegal importation of counterfeit goods.   

During an inspection, mobile groups of the Samara customs detected a fact of importation of counterfeit clothes for children of unknown origin. The items were marked with a designation confusingly similar to the My Little Pony trademark owned by Hasbro Inc., a world-renowned children's products manufacturer. The goods were imported to Russia from Kyrgyzstan with fake shipment documents. Sojuzpatent lawyers filed a petition in the interests of Hasbro Inc. to bring the infringers to administrative liability. The customs officers arrested the goods, initiated an administrative case and filed a lawsuit in the Arbitration Court of the Orenburg Region.

Having considered the case, the court satisfied the claims in full and brought the importer of the counterfeit goods to administrative liability under part 1 of Article 14.10 of the Russian Administrative Offenses Code with a fine of 50 000 RUB together with confiscation and destruction of the infringing goods.
