Load of Fake Toys Stopped, Importer’s CEO Given Statutory Warning, Goods Confiscated

A large shipment of different brands’ toys has been discovered by the Far East Electronic Customs officials. Since the shipment included toys labeled with the MY LITTLE PONY and FURBY trademarks owned by Hasbro, Inc., Sojuzpatent lawyers stepped in and filed an administrative complaint with the customs. The evidence presented was deemed enough to proceed with the infringer’s prosecution. During the administrative court proceedings, the Primorye Region Arbitration Court found the the importing company's CEO liable of trademark infringement under Article 14.10 (Part 1) of the Russian Administrative Offenses Code. Apart from the issuance of a statutory warning, confiscation of the counterfeit goods was ordered by the court.
