Lifelong Meditech Private Limited (India) filed a lawsuit in order to invalidate the MATREX trademark (the certificate of the Russian Federation No. 703335), which stood in the way of registration of the client's own LIFELONG MATRIX trademark. The claim was based on the non-use of the mark by the rights owner during the preceding three years.
As a result of negotiations with the defendant, Sojuzpatent lawyers negotiated the provision of a written consent by the owner of the MATREX trademark to register the client's trademark. The Intellectual Property Court accepted the withdrawal of the claim in case No. SIP-1239/2024 and expressed gratitude to the parties for the work done to resolve the dispute out of court.
