Importation of Fake My Little Pony Toys Prevented by Court Decision

After receiving a notification from the Vladivostok Customs concerning importation of allegedly counterfeit goods, Sojuzpatent lawyers filed a petition in the interests of Hasbro Inc. (USA) to bring the infringer to administrative liability. The goods in question and their packaging were similar to Hasbro’s MY LITTLE PONY characters, which are copyright protected. Customs seized the infringing goods on the grounds of the petition and submitted the case materials to the local justice of peace in Vladivostok, Primorski Region.

Having considered the case, the court satisfied the claims in full and brought the importer of the counterfeit goods to administrative liability under part 1 of Article 7.12 of the Russian Administrative Offences Code with a fine of 30 000 RUB and confiscation of the goods infringing Hasbro’s copyright.
