Court Passes Decision on Confiscation and Destruction of Counterfeit Hasbro Toys

A shipment containing toys marked with designations confusingly similar to the “MY LITTLE PONY” and “FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC” trademarks owned by Hasbro Inc. was stopped at a Smolensk customs station. The customs filed several lawsuits in the Moscow Region Arbitration Court. As a result, the importer was brought to administrative liability under part 1 of Article 14.10 of the Russian Administrative Offenses Code.
In the course of the proceedings of the case А41-17510/23, Sojuzpatent lawyers produced evidence of the infringement of Hasbro trademarks. The toys were recognized as counterfeits and the court took the decision to confiscate and destroy the infringing goods.
