Court Finds Infringement of “FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC” Trademark

Sojuzpatent, acting as a representative of Hasbro, Inc., was informed by the Customs about allegedly counterfeit toys labeled with the “FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC” trademark (reg. No 497649) being imported into Russia. Sojuzpatent lawyers submitted relevant evidence confirming the infringement of the Hasbro’s trademark rights to the customs officials and argued for the further prosecution of this case.

The filed lawsuit was entertained by the Kaliningrad Region Arbitration Court, and the importer was held liable under Article 14.10, Part 1 of the Russian Code for Administrative Offences. The court imposed a fine on the infringer.
