The Basmanny District Court of Moscow ruled in favor of the client of Sojuzpatent (patent owner - Dr.Zenovich, Russian citizen

April 25, 2007 the Basmanny District Court of Moscow ruled in favor of the client of Sojuzpatent (patent owner - Dr.Zenovich, Russian citizen) in the patent infringement case (Russian patent 2229291 for alcohol hang over syndrome drug) against the large Russian pharmaceutical company “VEROPHARM”JSC. The Court decided to collect from “VEROPHARM” JSC about 3 million roubles in damages and 800 thousand roubles as compensation for moral harm (about 160 thousand EUR) to Dr.Zenovich. The Court prohibited any further distribution of the drug. This case is one of the first cases in the Russian patent litigation practice when plaintiff received not only lost profit but also compensation of moral harm.
