Chamber for Patent Disputes Desides in Favor of our Client GAZ

On June 8, 2005, the Chamber for Patent Disputes by its decision made on an opposition filed by Sojuzpatent's patent attorneys declared invalid as not novel the Russian utility model patent # 19014. Sojuzpatent's client in this case was a major Russian car manufacturer Open Joint Stock Company – “GAZ” (City of Nizgniy Novgorod, Central Russia) well-known in Russia as producer of Volga, Gazel and Gaz cars. The challenged utility model affected JSC “GAZ” plans to start production of a completely new Sport Utility Vehicle – “Vodnik”. This unique all road car was constructed based on military technologies and is capable not only to drive any territory but also to swim as an amphibious over water areas.
