Meeting of Russian CCI's Intellectual Property Committee

The Intellectual Property Committee of the Russian Chamber of Industry and Commerce held its meeting on April 25, 2004. The main topic was the activity of the Committee’s Special Commissions: Commission on Legislation, Commission on Fighting the Counterfeit products and Commission on Economic aspects of Intellectual Property. The IP Committee has ruled in favor of creation of a special panel of arbiters on IP matters in the Commercial Arbitration Court of the Russian Chamber of Industry and Commerce. The proposal for the creation of a special panel of arbiters on IP matters was originally introduced in the Committee by SOJUZPATENT. The existence of the special panel of arbiters on IP matters in the Commercial Arbitration Court of the Russian Chamber of Industry and Commerce consisting of well-known patent attorneys and copyright law specialists will permit the parties to obtain the out-of-government-court dispute resolution in Russia.
