Chamber for Patent Disputes Rules in Favor of Sojuzpatent's Client - Owner of Appellation of Origin “VOLOGODSKOYE MASLO”

The Chamber for Patent Disputes ruled in favor of of Sojuzpatent's Client – the owner of the well-known appellation of origin of goods “VOLOGODSKOYE MASLO”  - Butter from Vologda region (Northern Russia) - in an opposition case initiated by a large Russian manufacturer of Milk product seeking the possibility to produce “VOLOGODSKOYE MASLO” in other regions of Russia. This decision confirmed the validity of the Registration of appellation of origin for “VOLOGODSKOE MASLO”. The importance of that decision is difficult to overestimate since the brand “VOLOGODSKOE MASLO” is well-known for more than 150 years and associates for consumers with excellent quality butter with unique taste.
