IP Rights Holders Can Hide Information About Ownership

Until December 31, 2025, applicants, rights holders, and parties to transactions on the disposal of intellectual property have the right to submit an application to the RUPTO with a request not to disclose information about them in official publications of information about an application, patent, certificate, or disposal of an IP right. This rule entered into force on September 30, 2024, in accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated September 2, 2024 No. 1209.

In the absence of the above request, the publication procedure does not change. Official bulletins publish information about legal entities and individuals who have filed an application for an invention, utility model, industrial design, trademark, computer program, database, or integrated circuit topology, rights holders and parties to transactions with intellectual rights, in particular, the name of the rights holders, assignees, pledgees, and licensees.
